Insurance and Risk Management Services, Inc. Named Collier County Business of the Month for February 2016

NAPLES, FL (February 10, 2016) – The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Collier County Commissioners selected Insurance and Risk Management Services, Inc. as the Business of the Month for February 2016.

Each month, the award is presented to an organization that has enhanced the community through financial, volunteer and active involvement in organizations and programs that assist in creating a better quality of life for all citizens in Collier County.

The Board of Collier County Commissioners, Kristi Bartlett, Vice President, Opportunity Naples and Andrea Sturzenegger, Vice President, Marketing and Membership, The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, presented George Schmelzle, President, Insurance and Risk Management Services, Inc. (IRMS); Bill Kuhlman, Executive Vice President, IRMS; Donna Engel, Service Department Manager, IRMS; Sara Hines, Administration Department Manager, IRMS; Brandon Hipwell, Underwriting Department Manager, IRMS; with a commemorative plaque at the February 9th County Commission meeting.

IRMS began as a startup company in Collier County in 1989 and has grown to over 50 employees. It recruited local talent, many of whom had no prior experience in the insurance industry; through investment in training and education, IRMS provided the tools to cultivate successful, dedicated insurance professionals The investment in a home office, located in the Vanderbilt Galleria, is indicative of a long-term strategic plan to continue to grow in Collier County.

IRMS supports many local organizations, but its primary emphasis is on supporting the United Way of Collier County. Over the years, many of its associates have participated on the United Way’s Board of Directors and Financial Review Committees. The IRMS United Way Committee actively supports the United Way financially through corporate gift giving, various sponsorships and enthusiastic participation in annual fundraising events such as the annual Walk for the Way and Stuff the Bus.
